I had a great time working at InterConnect 2015 in Vegas for IBM. They had a 22′ clear, double sided, dry erase board with a vinyl underwrap that had the graphics of a grey brick wall on it for me to work on. The concept was for me to draw characters and handstyles all around, but leave areas for the convention attendees (All 21,00+ of them from around the world) to come and do their own work, collaborate, or interact with the wall. Here is a shot of the wall blank and in an early stage.
Working at a corporate event can present some interesting requests. To meet the requirements of the venue, the wall had to be done in nothing but dry erase marker. Unfortunately even the broadest marker is pretty small, and doesn’t feed ink too well. They don’t have liquid inside them its just a piece of felt or cotton soaked in the ink. So I had to dig around and find a source for liquid dry erase ink and empty markers. The empty markers were easy, the ink not so much. A little elbow grease and some engineering and I had it done though.
